Our Review Process
Every review on Ecommerceviews is written independently, tested honestly, and updated regularly. Here is exactly how we do it.
There are a lot of review sites out there that take money from the platforms they write about. We do not. Our income does not change based on which platform scores higher, and no company can pay us to change a score or write a positive review.
What you read on Ecommerceviews reflects what we actually found the good parts, the frustrating parts, and the parts that depend entirely on what kind of merchant you are.
How every review is produced
We test the platform ourselves
Before writing a single word, our team signs up and uses the platform as a real merchant would. We set up a store, add products, go through checkout, contact support, and test the features that actually matter day to day.
We score across six categories
Every platform is scored on ease of use, features, pricing value, customer support, performance, and SEO tools. Each category is weighted based on what matters most to the type of merchant the platform targets.
We write for the merchant, not the platform
Our reviews are written to help a specific type of merchant make a decision — not to make every platform sound good. If something is overpriced, difficult to use, or missing features, we say so clearly.
We update reviews regularly
Platforms change their pricing, features, and support quality over time. We revisit every review at least every six months and update scores, facts, and recommendations when things change.
How our scores work
Every platform receives a score out of 10. Here is what the numbers mean:
A note on affiliate links
Some links on Ecommerceviews are affiliate links if you click and sign up, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our scores or recommendations. We link to platforms we would recommend regardless of whether an affiliate programme exists. If a platform scores poorly, we say so — even if we earn commission from it.
