EcommerceViews Research

Most ecommerce statistics come from software companies, payment firms or agencies with something to sell. We think store owners deserve numbers they can check. So we collect our own data from merchants, publish the full method, and show how many people answered.

Ecommerce Merchant Benchmarks 2027

A survey of online store owners and managers in the UK and US. It covers conversion rate, order value, mobile sales, returns, couriers, payment options, B2B selling and how stores use AI tools. The survey is open now and the main fieldwork runs from 4 November to 4 December 2026. We’ll publish the free report in January 2027.

Our data analyses

We also study official statistics from government sources and explain what they mean for online sellers.

How we run our research

We publish the method before the results. That way nobody can say we picked the method to fit the answers.

We report how many people answered and how many answers we removed, and why. If a group is too small to trust, we don’t publish a figure for it. Our cut-off is 50 answers.

We say clearly who took part. Our surveys reach merchants through our newsletter, our partners and merchant communities. That means the results describe the merchants who chose to answer, not every online store, and we say so next to the numbers.

We never sell placement in our research. No platform, courier or payment company pays to be included, and no company can change or approve our findings.

Our independence

EcommerceViews is run by SEOPAPA LTD and doesn’t sell any platform licence or store build. Our author, Ajenoui Imad, is Marketing Director at OpenCart, which is one of the platforms listed in our surveys. Every platform is listed in the same way, and we publish the results whatever they show. You can read more in our affiliate disclosure.

Using our data

You’re welcome to quote our findings in articles, reports and talks. Please name EcommerceViews as the source and link to the report page, so readers can check the method and sample size.
